Requirements
What is required for a legal marriage ceremony?
The marriage is subjected to law that only requires an authorized officiant and two witnesses.
Who can use our services?
We have no citizenship or residency requirements to obtain a marriage license. Any couple whose marriage is not forbidden by US law may apply for and be issued a valid marriage license. Our service is available to same-sex couples as well.
Does a couple have to appear in person to get their marriage license?
No. Couples may apply for a marriage license completely online. The ceremony takes place online as well using Zoom.
Despite being in separate locations, is it still possible for a couple to be married?
Yes. Video-conferencing weddings must permit the officiant, participants, and witnesses to see and hear each other concurrently in order to be valid. Regardless of their individual geographic location, using our service, they can legally use a marriage license issued by the US.
Legality
Do other US states recognize our weddings?
Yes. All states should recognize a marriage that is legalized in one state, regardless of their marriage laws.
Do other countries recognize our weddings?
Most countries recognize marriages solemnized outside of their country, but that is a matter between the individual countries. Additional authentication of legal documents from other countries may be required. One form of additional certification is called an Apostille. We provide Apostille certification if you wish to have one.
Our services
How much time does the process take?
Since receiving your application, we can set up the wedding within 2 days, depending on the availability of the officiant from the county state.
How much does the service cost?
We charge $599 for the service. It includes the marriage license, ceremony, and 1 digital and 1 hard copy of the certification.
Does the marriage certificate mention that the couple got married online?
No, every couple who gets their license through the county state receives the same certificate, regardless whether they were married online or in the office.
What differentiates our weddings from a virtual wedding?
Virtual weddings take place with avatars in a virtual space. In our weddings the participants present themselves. The marriage takes place in a physical location – the host location of the ceremony.
What is the difference between our service and a proxy wedding?
A proxy marriage occurs when someone else represents an absent spouse. In our weddings, the participants represent themselves. They visually appear before an officiant and witnesses; their personal verbal agreement to enter the marriage is heard by the officiant and witnesses. Our service is not a proxy marriage. Each participant must appear before the officiant personally. They cannot be represented by a third party.
